Terms
Last updated September 30, 2026
Flat Invoice is a sole proprietorship in the United States. These terms cover the website at flatinvoice.com and the invoices you send through it. By creating an account you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.
Your account
You need an email and a password. You are responsible for activity on your account. We may close an account that breaks these terms or that we cannot keep online safely.
Acceptable use
Use Flat Invoice for real invoices. Do not send spam, impersonate someone else, bill for illegal goods or services, or try to break the service. You are responsible for the client names, emails, and amounts you enter.
Fees
Free includes 3 sent invoices each calendar month. After that, each extra send is a $2 one-time charge. There is no subscription required for that $2 send. Pro is $9 per month or $79 per year and removes the $2 send fee. We do not take a percentage of your invoice totals. Refunds of Flat Invoice fees are at our discretion.
Payments
Flat Invoice fees (the $2 send fee and Pro) are processed by Stripe, and Stripe’s terms apply to those charges. Your clients pay you directly using the payment instructions you put on the invoice. A client payment is between you and your client; Flat Invoice never touches or holds those funds.
Online payments are optional. If you connect your own Stripe account, a client can pay an invoice by card or bank debit. Those payments are processed on your own Stripe account under Stripe’s terms, and the money goes straight to you. Flat Invoice never holds funds and takes no percentage of what your client pays; Stripe’s standard fees apply, and you may choose to add a card processing fee to the client’s total. Refunds and disputes are between you, your client, and Stripe.
